With some help from the folks at /r/modeltrains, I’ve taken my first stab at a layout.
Theme-wise, I’m looking to have a chunk of Switzerland in my office, with some valley farmland, a lakefront town like Lucerne or Interlaken, and a mountain town like Zermatt.
Available to me is a 11′ by 5′ area of my office (and guest bedroom), as well as a yard area within a closet (after making a few holes in the small wall between them, presumably). The track is primarily Kato Unitrack, with some Atlas flex track to be thrown in to connect up some of the spots where the Kato geometry doesn’t work perfectly.
